The “Zone”

September 28, 2010

I was in the “zone”!

The mental state achieved when one is trying to squeeze every mile out of every passing minute.

I was in the “zone”!

The mental state achieved when even the slightest aberration in any of the working parts under the chassis are magnified a hundred-fold.

I was in the “zone”!

The mental state achieved when the sunrise gives wings to dreams, thus enabling one to glide above the road surface.

I was in the “zone”!

The mental state achieved when the differences between right and wrong pale in comparison to the omnipresent feeling of bliss, on seeing the empty road ahead.

I was in the “zone”!

The mental state achieved when the accelerator pad becomes an extension of the leg and the steering wheel becomes an extension of the hands.

I was in the “zone”!

The mental state achieved when “rules” cease to be the “commandments”.

Question: What happens when you are in the “Zone”?

Answer: Well, you get a speeding ticket. That’s what happens!

———————–

Note to self: In the future, if you ever dilly-dally with the idea of going into one of those “zones”; please remember that a grumpy few others on interstate I-5, on their early morning shift, might not share your zeal and will most probably not see anything poetic in it!
