Desi Touch to Foreign Companies!!!

India, as we all know is the next biggest thing on the world map!!! Every year, many companies setup shop in India. Many of them work well, many don’t.

This is the first in the series where I educate companies on what should be their approach when they come to India. For many Indians, the company logo is very important. Hence this is my free advice (as I am a consultant) to many foreign MNC’s.

Ferrari:

We all know that Ferrari is coming to India with a big bang. But how do they convince people to actually buy their large oversized fuel guzzling cars which can only be driven with a top speed of 20 km/hr on our Indian roads???

Simple!!! They just need to convince the gullible people that Ravana abducted Sita in a Ferrari 575 Maranello and the chariot used by Arjuna in the Great War actually ran on the Ferrari V12 engine.

Hence, I propose the saffronization of the logo as part of this campaign.

Johnny Walker:

JW needs to realize the fact we Indians love our desi daaru and are not particularly fond of foreign influences. Hence I propose the lungification of the company logo. As part of this campaign, they also need to educate the people that their brand was what the ancient Indians drank as Somarasam!!!!

Maserati:

Maserati, another costly sports car company, which soon will make its foray into the Indian scene, needs to realize that they also should change their logo. Since I have given the Hindutva idea to Ferrari, I propose that the company logo which resembles Murugan’s Vel needs to have subtle changes in it!!! By doing this, South Indians will surely prefer your car to Ferrari now!!!!!

Dell:

Dell has recently setup shop in Chennai and many Indians are actually buying their laptops. Recently as part of the “giving laptops to the common man” campaign, the government came up with a disastrous 10 dollar laptop which not a single person has bought. Dell is in the correct place at the correct time. Hence I propose that Dell make a very small adjustment to their logo which will tell the common people that they stand for delivering quality products for a low price and that they are for India!!

Hence I suggest the hindification of their logo!!

Starbucks:

Starbucks would most probably not set up shop in India as it would be like selling ice cubes to an Eskimo, especially when the market is controlled by Bru coffee. But they can beat CCD and Barista in their own game if only they sell cheaper and by making again a very minor change in their logo as shown below!!!
